I loved the plot and the scene as it unfolded. I felt, though, a bit distant from the characters - something was happening, but it wasn't really pulling me in. I needed to *feel* each strike. More description of emotions and facial expressions might have remedied this. Great story, though - definitely walked away having learned valuable lessons! Well done! (7/10)

I will go lex one better, I think this story is an eight. Yes, extra points are given for the lucite rod but I think that there was significant novelty to the plot as well and a neat little twist and puzzlement at the end. I can even see lex "lucite" ludite using the 'rod' in one of his next stories.
Why not a nine or a ten. Frankly I thought that there could be a greater discriptive effort at the vocal and physical reactions of the sub.

Not bad, not bad at all; in fact pretty darn good. I am sure that certain people are already taking notes and figuring how to work that neat Lucite whip into their stories. (7/10)
