What a dumb ending to an otherwise promising story. Bummer. (5/10)

Great story telling with an unlikely ending. Some typos and errors that can be easily fixed. (8/10)

Wow, shades of John Steinbeck. Marine biology at the good old BDSMLIB. There is some wonderful story-telling here, (aside from a most unlikely denouement), and the local color, as Moggy says, was first rate. But there were a fair number of typos, too many grammatical slips, and quite a few of the kinds of misspellings that slip past spell-checkers. /// The ropes were course and bit into her pale flesh /// Finally Bubba 1 through back his head /// my body began to shack uncontrollably /// my mouth gapped open /// scoured our soar, burned bodies/// Bottom line -- a clever, imaginative and well-researched story marred by some careless proof-reading and a weak ending. (8/10)

Well, I'm a hopeless romantic, and I liked the twist at the end, even if it stretched the bonds of believeability way past the breaking point. Yep, I liked it, but I'm ashamed of myself a little for it. (9/10)

There were many good things about this story, particularly the author's authentic grasp of the local geography, flora and fauna. The writing of the central section was well sustained. I would have liked the ghost crab to have a bigger role. For example 'he' could have assisted an escape, cutting a rope with its claw? ;-), that would have been more realistic than the rather surprising deal struck at the end. That disappointment aside, I thought this was a worthwhile read. (8/10)
