Nice story, if you are looking for sex and cruelty, it is not here. Well written tale with great detail and historically pretty accurate. (8/10)

Marhaba. Those damn Yemenites! They are almost as rascable as the Eritreans, aren't they? Still, this story left me feeling as if I had used a little too much Qat. Still worth an 8, for going where others would not have. (8/10)

Very well done. The writing is smooth, easy to read. The situation is believable, even funny if the possible consequences of Catherine's violation of custom weren't so serious. All's well that ends well, though, as the best writer in English might have said. (9/10)

I had two problems with this story. Firstly, and I know it was very unfair, I kept comparing it with the winning entry of this competition. Secondly, to me it lacked emotion. You put your main character, sixteen year old Catherine, in a terrifying situation, and yet I felt none of her fear or anxiety as I read about her ordeal. She seemed to me to be almost blasé about her situation in some parts, and that I think let your story down a little. - I thought your story was good, but it could have been so much better - it could have been a winner. (8/10)

Aurelius creates a sort of 19th century finishing school using a childhood backstory of cowboys and Indians rope-play. With settings and appropriate names this story is well worth reading. (10/10)
