Teresa Martinez is a ravishing young girl who pours drinks in a backwater cantina in Sonora Mexico. She dreams of having enough money to take the long stagecoach ride to San Francisco where, she is sure, her sparkling eyes, her luscious body, and her sensuous dancing will win her a rich banker or railroader or the like. Then one night an American cowpoke stops by the cantina and has a good run of luck in a poker game. Teresa, mesmerized by the pile of money in front of the gringo, decides to dance for him. And more. But greed is a sin. And some sins are punished here on earth. |

Bocacio's new Western setting story revives interest in the cruel adventures of Big Joe and Ernie. Bocacio is very literary in the way he builds up the setting and atmosphere. The PR for his other story (the previous adventures of the desperadoes) are useful reminders for his older readers, and a sure way to get new fans. Bocacio is a breast man, and he excels here. The leather spraying the drool off the nipple is really stimulating. Black Betsy is back - Bocacio finds new devices like the doorway and the cactus dance to keep his old fans hooked. We look forward to more innovations. (10/10)

- Thanks, Aniga, for the kind words. And it's a good thing it was a favorable review -- Black Jack Slocum don't ordinarily cotton to folks who call him "Big Joe" :-)

So nicely done and, although early on in the story, I was still forced to give it my highest rating based on the sheer writing power that it generates! (10/10)

Very entertaining so far. Just the right amount of latino flavour. I'm looking forward to the 'usual denouement' promised by the author. (9/10)

- Sui,
Thanks for the review -- but the denouement will, I hope, prove to be UNusual, not usual. The middle chapters, however, if I know Jake, are very likely to feature diabolical desperados performing dastardly and despicable acts of violence on our lovely heroine. For your viewing pleasure, of course...

- Oops! Another typo. UNusual, of course.

A nine based on the promise of just two chapters! This is starting out better than the "Outlaw's Revenge". If it continues in this mode I will be forced to update later to a ten. This has got it all, mood, local color, despicable characters and maybe even (we will have to see) a plot. Ride 'em cowboy! (9/10)

- A plot? There's supposed to be a plot? In Piedras Negras we don't need no steeeeenkeeeng plot. ;-)
Seriously, there have been at least three different felonies in the first installment -- and Black Jack and Ernie have hardly laid a glove on the lovely senorita. A state of affairs, which, if you know the history of those two ruffians, can not last for long. There is indeed a plot, and, if I say so myself, a very unusual denouement. Stay tuned... Thanks for the review, e e GB
