The (Latin) Summer Wind Author: Faibhar

With apologies to Frank, and any other pop song fans, this is another ficticious tale of antiquity that ultimately applies basic modern day wind analysis.

From a carnal point of view,'meatier ology' than this you won't often find, folks. As always, I enjoy Faibhar's classic settings -- and this one better than most; very nice intensity right from the start. Once again the author's quirky diction prevents me from giving an even higher grade, but there were fewer such errata here than in some earlier stories. All in all, a nice job that will probably set more than a few weathercocks a-waggin'. (8/10)

Sin-tax aside, thank you for your generous review. The quirkiness can only be ascribes to finding one's writing "voice". something that has been under fire for some time.

My apologies; I made a typo spelling your name earlier and didn't catch it (until I corrected it just now). As they said in Rome, Mea culpa.

I liked this story. I like the period a lot, and this was nice to read. I was rather miffed at her being punished for winning the battle, but I suppose the punishment that she got was rather expected, at least in that time. You weren't allowed to win as a gladiator. Also, some of the historical references weren't correct, but you can't have your cake and eat it too. All in all enjoyable, and sadly true. Also, where was the snuff rating? It should have been there, since at least one person was killed. (8/10)

Dear Nitrofox,
Thank you for your generous review, and it is good that you enjoyed the read for the most part.
Most troubling was your question of the "snuff" rating. As I understand the term, it refers to so-called killing for pleasure/filming/etc. Previous stories here have the heroine meeting fatal conclusions, but I have not ever submitted a snuff story under the above definitions. So I do hope that explains the abscence of the "snuff rating".
