I've loved it.
I was looking for an F/m story, and I've been surprised on how much I've enjoyed "His Mirror Image". Dorothy Strangelove's visual descriptions pulled me from beginning to end, like I really were there and were one of them, eager to know what was about to happen next. I'm very glad I've read "His Mirror Image", I've enjoyed it a lot. This is a story I'll remember. (10/10)

When I saw the 'score' on this here story, I first thought that Miss Strangelove maybe had suffered from an early morning monday blues, or that she dug-up a piece from her schooldays, you know, first attempts at writing and all.
After having read "His Mirror Image", I understand that slaveneedledick's idea of a good fuck must be the wank he has, ogling yonder girl bending over while feeding swans in the park.
Okay. So there's an unwritten rule that says to not judge other reviewers' opinions. Hey. See if I stick to it. Not a chance. Especially when the criticism is about not enough character development while the characters in this story are as underdeveloped as a well fed six-pack of Arnold Schwarzenegger clones. Before their bypasses.
Granted, "His Mirror Image" is a simple story. A dramatic romance, or romantic drama, if you like. A strange love with a Stranglove twist. Can't go wrong on those.
It's also about the dangers of love turning into obsession. And obsession spiraling out of control to go give insanity a hug. Almost. Add a pinch of jealousy and a sniff of rivalry and you've got a nice cocktail. Shaken. Stirred even.
And the story has indeed a nice ending at the end. Would have amazed me should it have had a nice ending at the beginning. Sure, stranger things have happened. But still.
To make a long story not necessarily shorter, I think that "His Mirror Image" is one of Dorothy Strangelove's best. Although it is very hard to speak in such terms when it comes to 'DS' stories. They're all in close competition with each other.
But this one exhumes a special kind of warmth. Should I dare to compare, I would pick "The House On Sorrow Hill Lane" as it's closest relative.
Another perfect instance of exemplary storytelling and writing skill. That's it in a tiny nutshell.

Thank you for such a great review, this story was origionally much longer with more content and I was going to publish this one on another fiction site, but they insisted on a rigid format so I had to cut out a lot and I think that's why it's a bit less full than my usual stuff, but I don't think it loses on the plot by it and yes, in some ways, it does come across short and to the point but the twists and turns are not lost. I also consider this a story about obsession, flirting also with insanity, and in the beginning I was going to make it the other way around - a man obsessed with creating his ideal woman, then I thought, if I make it a woman trying to replace her dead lover, it would make it heavier, a different perspective on theme and it would make for more interesting reading. Looks like I succeeded, so that's great. Glad you liked the twist at the end, I always like to give my readers a surprise. And yes, the twists and turns are rather like the way Sorrow Hill Lane works, too. I think this story is the one that drew Dorothy out in me, I was able to put shades of light and dark in and play around with the reader's expectations, it was the one that made me Strangelove, I think. Thank you once again for your great review.

It was an interesting plot. Not very graphic and character development could have been better. But not an over all bad read (6/10)

Thanks, I like to think there are certain themes where graphic content is needed, others it is better simply to be implied when a lighter touch is needed to make the most of the story to emphasise the plot.
